Types of Lorcana Events

Hello fellow Illumineers!

Thank you for checking out my site, and welcome to your Lorcana journey. If you’ve just started, congratulations! I hope to see you at an event soon. If you’re brand new to the game, do check out How to Get Started first before diving in.

On this page, I’ll walk you through the different types of Disney Lorcana events you can find in the community, from casual play to world-level competition, so you’ll know exactly where you fit in.

Casual Play

You won’t usually see stores officially announcing Casual Lorcana Events. That said, casual play happens all the time.

You can:

  • Play with other players at your local game store (just check if space is available and if others are looking for games)
  • Play with friends or family anywhere at your convenience
  • Test decks, experiment with fun builds, or even play against a Heist Pack

There’s no pressure, no rankings, and no expectations, just fun. Play anything, try weird decks, and enjoy the game with people you like. That’s the real reward.

Weekly Events

If you prefer a more structured and official experience, weekly events are where most players start.

You can check the Ravensburger event page to find stores hosting events near you. Just show up at the listed date and time with a deck that fits the format, and you’re good to go.

Tips:

  1. Entry fees and prize pools vary by shop
  2. Always check with the store beforehand, some events won’t run if there aren’t enough players

Typical Weekly Event Prizes (Organized Play Kits)

  • Ink Pins
  • Storage Boxes
  • Promo Cards (Rare, Uncommon, Common or Super Rare variants with special borders/foiling)
  • Lore Counters

All these items are event-exclusive, you won’t find them on store shelves.

Set Championships

Set Championships are more competitive than weekly events.

Each store can only run one per quarter, and each quarter features a different set. These events are great if:

  • You’re looking to test yourself against stronger players
  • You enjoy a competitive environment
  • You want exclusive collectibles

Typical Set Championship Prizes

  • Participation: Alternative art Legendary card
  • Top 8: Foil alternative art card
  • Winner: Exclusive Champion Playmat

Even if you’re not ultra-competitive, joining for the participation card alone is worth!

Qualifiers

If you’re ready to go a level higher, Qualifier events are your next step.

A common format is the CCQ (Challenge Championship Qualifier). These are usually organised by event companies or national distributors. Winners receive invitations to higher-tier competitive events, and prize pools vary by organiser.

This is where you start to feel what true competitive Lorcana is like strong decks, serious players, and high-level gameplay. Even if you don’t aim to win, it’s an amazing learning experience.

DLC

The next tier up is the Disney Lorcana Challenge (DLC).

This is where top players compete, and winners earn invitations to the World Championship. You’ll see some of the best players in the game here.

Even if you’re not competitive:

  • You can join side events
  • Farm exclusive DLC prizes
  • Experience high-level tournament atmosphere

You can read more in Disney Lorcana Challenge Singapore 2025.

DLC events happen every few months, but:

  • Countries and cities are not fixed
  • You may need to travel internationally to attend
  • If you’re lucky, one might be hosted near you

Either way, it’s an unforgettable experience!

World Championship

This is the highest level of Lorcana competition.

The World Championship is invite-only, and the only way to qualify is by winning a DLC event. It’s where the absolute best players in the world face off to determine the true champions of the game.

Invitees

  • Are fully sponsored to attend
  • Receive exclusive prizes that cannot be obtained anywhere else
  • Compete at the highest level possible in Lorcana

This is the ultimate goal for competitive players and one of the hardest achievements in the game.

Conclusion

Disney Lorcana events offer something for everyone:

  • Want fun and freedom? → Casual play
  • Want structure and rewards? → Weekly events
  • Want competition and prestige? → Set Championships
  • Want high-level gameplay? → Qualifiers
  • Want elite competition? → DLC
  • Want the ultimate stage? → World Championship

No matter your skill level or playstyle, there’s a place for you in the Lorcana community. Whether you’re here for fun, friends, collecting, or competition, your journey is valid!
