Enchanted Pull Rate

Hello Illumineers 👋

Have you ever scrolled through social media or walked into a Lorcana event and seen someone post yet another Enchanted pull?

Maybe it was from a “lucky” booster pack.
Maybe from a sealed event.
Maybe that one guy who “always seems to hit.”

It can start to feel like Enchanteds are everywhere.

So in this post, let’s do something a little different, let’s look at the actual math behind the odds of pulling an Enchanted in Disney Lorcana.

For newer players:
Enchanted cards are alternate-art versions of cards from a set. They feature premium artwork, enhanced foiling, and are among the most collectible rarities in the game.

The commonly cited pull rate is about 1% (or roughly 1 in 100 packs).

But what does that really mean?

If you buy a box… a case… or multiple cases… what are your actual chances?

Let’s break it down.

One Pack Magic

So essentially, the odds of pulling an Enchanted from any single pack is about 1%.

This assumes the pack comes from a fresh, unfiltered box, meaning no one has already opened packs from it and potentially pulled the Enchanted.

Why does this matter?

If someone has already opened an Enchanted from a box, some players believe the remaining packs may have lower chances (depending on how the product is distributed). So for the sake of keeping things simple, we will assume every pack we open is completely fresh and random.

Under that assumption, every pack has the same 1% chance of containing an Enchanted in Disney Lorcana.

That means:

1% of the time → magical moment ✨

99% of the time → no Enchanted

One Case Magic?

Now let’s scale things up.

A full case of Disney Lorcana typically contains 96 booster packs. Many players believe that buying a case almost guarantees an Enchanted, since the pull rate is around 1% per pack.

At first glance, it might seem logical to think:

96 packs × 1% = 96% chance of getting an Enchanted.

Unfortunately, probability doesn’t work that way.

Each pack is considered an independent event, meaning the result of one pack does not affect the next. Because of that, we need to calculate the chance of not pulling an Enchanted at all, and then subtract that from 100%.

If the chance of not pulling an Enchanted in one pack is 99%, then the chance of missing it across all 96 packs is:0.99960.99^{96}This works out to about 38%.

That means:

  • 38% chance you open a full case and get 0 Enchanteds
  • 62% chance you get at least one Enchanted

So while buying a case does improve your chances, it is still far from guaranteed.

In fact, the most common outcomes look something like this:

Enchanteds in 96 PacksApproximate Chance
0~38%
1~37%
2~18%
3~6%
4 or more~1%

So statistically speaking, most cases will contain 0 or 1 Enchanted, while getting 2 or more is where things start to feel really lucky.

Of course, real-world openings may look slightly different depending on how Ravensburger distributes cards during production, but this gives us a good mathematical baseline.

Illumineer’s Trove

Next, let’s look at something many players love picking up, the Illumineer’s Trove in Disney Lorcana.

An Illumineer’s Trove usually contains 8 booster packs, along with some nice extras like deck boxes, dice, and storage.

But what about the odds of pulling an Enchanted from it?

Since each pack has about a 1% chance, we can calculate the odds across 8 packs.

First, we find the chance of not pulling an Enchanted in all 8 packs.

The probability of missing an Enchanted in one pack is 99%, so across 8 packs:0.9980.99^8This works out to about 92%.

That means:

  • ~92% chance you open a Trove and get no Enchanted
  • ~8% chance you pull at least one Enchanted

So statistically speaking, an Illumineer’s Trove is still very unlikely to contain an Enchanted though it absolutely can happen.

That’s why when someone pulls an Enchanted from just a Trove, it feels incredibly lucky. It’s roughly an 8% moment of magic

Of course, with enough Troves opened across the community, we’ll still see plenty of those magical screenshots online!

Sealed Event Magic

Now let’s look at sealed events.

Many sealed events in Disney Lorcana give each player 6 booster packs to build their deck. Naturally, players always hope one of those packs contains an Enchanted.

So what are the odds?

Using the same assumption that each pack has a 1% chance, we calculate the probability across 6 packs.

First, we find the chance of not pulling an Enchanted in all 6 packs:0.9960.99^6This works out to about 94%.

Which means:

  • ~94% chance you open your 6 packs and get no Enchanted
  • ~6% chance you pull at least one Enchanted

So pulling an Enchanted during a sealed event is definitely a rare and magical moment.

But What If There Are 16 Players?

A common assumption at events is:

“If 16 players each open 6 packs, someone must get an Enchanted.”

After all, that’s 96 packs total, which is roughly the same as opening a full case.

But as we discussed earlier, even with 96 packs, the chance of getting zero Enchanteds is still about 38%.

So while it is likely that someone at the event will pull one, it is far from guaranteed.

That’s why sometimes you’ll see a sealed event where:

  • nobody pulls an Enchanted at all
  • one lucky player hits one
  • or occasionally someone spikes the event with two

And when it happens, the whole room usually hears about it immediately!

Conclusion: Magic Is Rare… and That’s Okay ✨

So there you have it, a peek behind the numbers of Disney Lorcana’s Enchanted pulls.

Whether it’s a single pack, a booster box, a case, an Illumineer’s Trove, or a sealed event, the math shows the same thing:

  • Enchanteds are rare
  • Even big purchases don’t guarantee one
  • And the odds don’t always match what we feel when we scroll through social media

If you’ve ever opened packs and didn’t get an Enchanted, don’t feel bad, it’s completely normal. Probability isn’t fair, and variance is part of the magic.

And remember: when you see posts of players pulling multiple Enchanteds, those are often the survivorship bias moments as people love sharing their lucky pulls, but the quiet majority of average or unlucky openings go unseen.

The key takeaway? Enjoy the game, enjoy opening packs, and let the magic surprise you when it happens. After all, the rarity is part of what makes Enchanteds feel so special.
