Hello Illumineers! This post is a worked example of how I would construct my 40-card sealed deck if these were my pulls.
For this example, I’ll be using the first six booster packs opened by The Illumiteers in their recent unboxing video, treating them as if they were the six packs I opened for my sealed event.
Pack 1

✅Let’s take Iduna for the Evasive. Minnie Mouse for the aggression.
✅Grandmother Willow for the indirect ramp. Mother will Protect you, Pot of Honey and Sitich for the counter play
Pack 2

✅Let’s take David for a good Bodyguard. Liquidator for the great stats. Heihei and Copper is a good card in general.
✅Alice and Graveyard for the Card Draw.
Pack 3

✅Next, I will take Lilo for sure, Pudge because it can potentially play for free.
✅Jiminy Cricket for my potential source of Ramp.
✅Education or Elimination because it’s a good card.
Pack 4

✅Beast Castle is a good way to challenge and gain lore. Nani for the Rush. Scrooge and Mickey can combo well so I shall take first. With Scrooge in place, I will take the second Alice too.
Pack 5

✅Let’s take Squeaks for the evasive. Marching off to Battle for Draws. Zootopia for early game lore.
✅Negaduck for the Bombs.
Pack 6

✅Pochahontas for the Rush. Nala for Evasive. Mushu for both Removal and Lore.
✅Thunderquack for the lore gain.
Our pulls so far

At this point, after selecting good and playable cards using the BREAD formula, I have 28 cards. However, my ink curve looks a bit awkward, I currently have 10 two-drops, which is a bit much.
I’ll trim this down to 6 two-drops. These are still good cards, but the remaining two-drops are slightly stronger, and I need to smooth out the curve.

I also have 5 one-drops, which I will remove Zootopia since I don’t have much aggressive option, so I will need to go with the tempo route. Beast Castle is a better option for me in this sense.
I only have 4 three-drops, so I’ll bring in some strong vanilla cards and potential combo enablers to bring this up to around 10.

I decided to go with Boomer for the chance to exert someone, he is also Inkable. One more Jiminy for potential ramp. 2 Li Shang for the raw stats and Angela can make challenging in favourable for me. Scrooge because there is a chance I can Shift into big Scrooge early.
I currently have 5 four-drops, so I’ll add more to fill the curve.

I have Colors of the Wind for potential draw engine, Amos to fight the Evasive threats. However I can’t complete my 10 copies of 4 drops due to my pull, so I will need to commit higher to my 5 drops or look back and and add more 3 drops.
I currently have 2 five-drops, so I’ll add more to fill the curve.

Minnie is a good support for my Boost. Kanga allows me to catch up my lore and also challenge if needed to. Darkwing Duck has good stats.
I have two six-drops, and I need to play a bit more since I don’t have much 4 and 5 drops.

I decided to go with Lumpy for Evasive. Space Cows if I go to 7 Ink she will make a big impact. Jumba for a chance to play him early. Pumbaa and Mickey for the late game discard.
My 40 cards deck for this sealed

In total, I end up with 7 uninkable cards, which is the amount that I am comfortable with.
Deck plan:
Since my curve is quite top-heavy, the goal is to control the game’s tempo early, then build my ramp engine using cards like Grandma Willow and both Jiminy Crickets to accelerate into my high-cost characters.
Every early-game card is there for one purpose: stabilise the board and slow the game down until my bigger threats come online.
Potential weaknesses:
Even though I’m aiming to play a tempo-control style, I can struggle if my opponent floods the board early with high-lore characters before I finish setting up.
I also only have three Evasive counters and very limited removal, so I’m heavily dependent on time and board control to reach my late-game win condition.
Opportunities:
Once my high-cost characters are in play, the game becomes much more comfortable to control.
Early-game decision-making is critical, I need to think long-term, manage my ink carefully, and be willing to ink early-game cards to ensure I can sustain a longer game.
Conclusion
This is just an example of how I would build a sealed deck, there’s no right or wrong answer. This approach simply reflects my comfort with the ink curve and the BREAD formula.
Feel free to share how you would have built it differently, and may you pull an Iconic in your sealed! ✨
